Hospice and Palliative Care
Hear more about the benefit of VNA's Hospice and Palliative Care.
Supporting what is best for your family. Choosing a palliative approach to care for a loved one with a terminal illness is a difficult and emotional decision to make. VNA is at your side to provide your family with the comfort and support you need today — and for when the time comes.
Becoming part of the hospice process at the right time is an important consideration when it comes to the wellbeing of your family. When you or a loved one moves to hospice or palliative care, many important and valuable resources become available. That’s why VNA encourages our families to learn about the benefits of hospice care before the time of need.
Hospice care is appropriate at the time a loved one’s illness no longer responds to aggressive, cure-oriented treatment and the focus shifts to providing comfort through the end of life. By understanding the benefits of hospice earlier on, you have more time to research and understand your options and choices — and your loved one and family can greatly benefit from the emotional and physical support our hospice professionals can provide. VNA’s Hospice and Palliative Care services include support and programs to those who are in need during and after the loss of a loved one.
Caring for the whole individual
In hospice, emphasis is placed on caring for the whole person – physical, emotional, social and spiritual – in a pain-free home environment where you and your loved ones are able to concentrate your energy on each other. We respect the privacy and lifestyle of your family and work with you to develop a plan of care that brings peace of mind during this difficult time.
Our certified hospice and palliative care nurses focus on improving quality of life during the last months. Nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide your family with the highest quality of care. Short-term respite is also available on an intermittent basis to allow families time to take care of their own personal needs.
