Volunteering at VNA

VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTION

As an official thank you, each year VNA volunteers are invited to an annual recognition banquet and a holiday tea where you have the opportunity to connect with other volunteers and share your experiences.

HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS

Hospice is dedicated to providing compassionate care to patients facing terminal illness. Volunteers help our team by offering companionship as well as caregiver relief. Volunteers complete sixteen hours of hospice training prior to being assigned to an individual’s home, nursing facility or hospice house. Hospice volunteers may also choose to assist in bereavement or clerical duties.

VNA TEENS VNA

Teens (14 years and older) volunteer their time making a difference in the lives of hospice and nursing home patients. Teens decide what they would like to do, such as group projects, visiting patients, recording a patient’s life history or computer projects. Teens fit their volunteering into their own schedules and receive hospice training to assure they are comfortable with their volunteer role.

OFFICE AND CLERICAL VOLUNTEERS

Office and Clerical volunteers help with a variety of duties at the VNA office. Volunteers assemble packets, file or copy paperwork, and work on the computer or help with mailings. These volunteers are crucial to VNA’s day-to-day operations. Volunteers are needed on a weekly, biweekly and monthly basis as well as for special projects.

SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Throughout the year, VNA needs volunteers to assist with special events. Help is needed from planning to setup so volunteers can choose what works best for their interests, time and schedule.
