About Visiting Nurse Association


For more than a century, VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) has led the way in the delivery of in-home and community health care services.

Today, VNA is a team of more than 400 expert health professionals and caregivers dedicated to providing the highest quality in-home care to the residents of Omaha and Council Bluffs—regardless of their ability to pay—along with a wide range of services for and in the community.

Backed by a tradition of nursing, VNA offers a complete line of home care services, including Companion Care, Skilled Home Care, IV Therapy, Home Health Technology, and Hospice and Palliative Care.


In one year, VNA's team...

Cared for more than 5,000 people needing in-home care, hospice, palliative care or pharmacy

Served 2,000 physicians-ordered newborn care, more than 475 through Project WIN (Welcoming Infants into Neighborhoods - Home Visitation) and 1,100 social work services for at-risk immigrant and refugee families

Administered 14,300 immunizations throughout Omaha and Council Bluffs

Educated more than 1,500 area children and adults about proper nutrition
through our Cooking Matters program

Treated more than 2,600 at-risk children and adults through the Shelter Nursing program

Cared for more than 19,000 students through our School Health program at 51 schools
